Grand Tower, Frankfurt
Perfect entry into a world-class skyscraper
It is a new attraction on the skyline of the banking metropolis: the Grand Tower in Frankfurt's Europaviertel reaches180 metres into the sky, making it Germany's tallest high-rise residential building. The imposing building has 47 residential floors, a lobby on the ground floor and three technical floors under the roof. The 418 flats, ranging in size from 60 to around 300 square metres, offer living comfort that can hardly be surpassed and furnishings that meet the highest standards. The concierge service in the lobby is available day and night.
Innovative door communication with ABB-Welcome IP
Just as the multi-award-winning building meets the highest architectural standards, the installation technology of the Grand Tower also fulfils all requirements for a smart and safe living. A special highlight is the innovative door communication system ABB-Welcome IP with a HD video communication, which can be used for outdoor, indoor and remote monitoring of residential and functional buildings. Its user interface is easy to use and intuitive on all devices. Brushed stainless steel and aluminium paired with a low installation depth for flush-mounted and surface-mounted installation emphasise the sophisticated design of the door communication system. Busch-Welcome IP in the Grand Tower is the most extensive installation in Germany in a residential building to date.
Chip card to the building
The 24 ABB-Welcome IP outdoor stations grant residents access to the building via a chip card in the car park, at the barrier and at building doors. Guests register with the concierge via the stations. After consultation, he lets them go directly to the destination floor by lift. The possibility of bidirectional communication between residents and concierge is a particularly useful function.
Worldwide remote access
The ABB-Welcome IP gets even more possibilities through the smartphone app. Without additional devices, the app can be used to control the door communication and access control of a flat via worldwide remote access over the Internet. The app allows, for example, to be reached via the door intercom when on the move, if desired. In addition, the smartphone can be used within the home to control ABB-Welcome IP - there is no need to go to the control panel.
90 kilometres of data lines
Around 90 kilometres of data cables were laid for the electrical installation in the Grand Tower, 16 kilometres for ABB-Welcome IP to control 413 ABB-Welcome IP indoor and 24 outdoor stations, 16 Power-over-Ethernet (POE) switches, eight data distributors and 24 IP switching actuators. In addition to ABB-Welcome IP and the associated devices from Busch-Jaeger, sub-distributors, circuit breakers and series installation devices from ABB are used within the installation. Just like ABB-Welcome IP, they are characterised by simple installation and quick commissioning.
All in all, the Grand Tower offers top-class living comfort with the highest level of security and perfect technology in impressive architecture.
